Support locally owned eateries without getting out of the car!

TL;DR: Here’s a (hopefully) comprehensive list of locally owned eateries that have drive-thrus in the Des Moines area!

The Reasoning

People equate drive-thrus with international fast food chains, which is fair. But local drive-thrus exist, and they’re worth pointing out.

My interest in local drive-thrus came during the pandemic. I wanted to dine out while minimizing exposure for all involved. However, supporting local places during the pandemic was more important to me than ever.

To boot, I developed physical limitations during the pandemic, including a fibromyalgia diagnosis. Frankly, the last thing I want to do on busy errand days is get out of the car again. If I can find a local drive-thru, I save myself time and pain.
